Upgrading my build - Plista - Apr 26, 2020 I am looking to make some upgrades to my existing build. I havent done any upgrades since 2015 now, so 5 years on I think its worth doing. I've noticed my PC runs pretty slow now even for basic things. I think its 8GB of RAM. Just having things like Discord, Spotify, Outlook and Chrome open I'm using 67% (5.4GB). I can run PUBG/GTA V etc on this build and I'm not really bothered about playing games in 4k, my 6-year-old Samsung 23inch monitor doesn't even support 4k. I just think its worth me doing some upgrades to look after my PC and ensure it stays in the best shape. I think I need to get 2x 8GB sticks of RAM. What should I do with the 2x 4GB? Keep in? Any RAM recommendations? Probably need a new graphics too. Any suggestions? It came out in late 2013's if I'm not wrong. You could always look into getting a budget card like 1080Ti. You got a 6th gen i7 which should easily last a few more years. I would suggest you strongly get a 2x8GB sticks. I used to have a 2x4GB Hynix sticks at a point. Keep the 4GB ones as spare. You never know when you might need them (backups). |
