A single 1,000 WBTC minted on Ethereum the other day already surpassed Lightning Network. As wBTC and soon tBTC launches will obsolete Lightning Network as it growing at a alarming rate.

This will be greatly amplified as we near Ethereum 2.0.

Fees are gonna be too much for ppl to send; ETH fees are lower.

Full ETH 2.0 is still a bit out, but upgrading one of the biggest network in crypto is not easy task. You only get one shot at it.

tBTC will have no trusted third party and it dwarfs LN in the fact that there is more BTC in WBTC than LN. wBTC/tBTC will continue to grow at a exponential rate while LN stays stagnant.

true that I wouldn't consider wBTC very decentralized, but it is used as funding/collateral for other DeFi products on Ethereum... though the recent large mints have boosted the supply a ton recently and was integrated by Maker, so its getting a lot of recent attention. Also I believe just became the second largest collateral for DAI behind ETH... I've got my own feelings about the massive move to integrate as collateral for DAI, but it is what it is. I like people to have choices too, so...
I wish we still had options for single collateral DAI... MCD is nice, but I'm not sure I will trust all the assets integrated, would be much happier with user-choice risk options in DAI, though that would likely just add nightmarish system complexity lol.
I've got my own BTC bridge project to help with tho, much more exciting than wBTC if I may say so... (threshold ecdsa, SC governed 1-1 supply peg, and no kyc 😈😈😈)
