Make a music playlist that gradually goes from sad songs to happy - TR_Pianoo - May 26, 2020

Make a music playlist that gradually goes from your favourite sad songs to your favourite happy songs. Listen to this if you're upset, and you won't notice yourself cheering up.

The key word here is 'gradual', so for instance I have Comfortably Numb, going to Piano Man, to Hey Ya, to I Can't Decide, then Rasputin

Happy songs sound out of place when you're upset, making them less effective at cheering you up; if you start with songs that match your current mood, you won't notice the change until you're already happier.

It works like the boiling frog fable. Drop a frog in boiling water and it'll jump out. Heat the water slowly, it barely notices.
