Filen.io - Client sided end-to-end encrypted file sharing platform - filenIO - Jun 10, 2020 Link: filen . io The main reason why we created this is that we found no file-sharing platform that offers fully end-to-end encrypted file sharing without having to sacrifice your privacy. Most of them have a really low limit, tons of ads, trackers or need your email address to send you the uploaded file's link. Filen was born. How does it work? When you upload a file to Filen's cloud storage, you actually don't upload a file, you upload chunks of encrypted text. Before you initiate an upload, your browser chunks your file into 1 MB pieces, encrypts them using AES encryption and then sends the encrypted string to our servers. That way the actual file never leaves your computer. When downloading a file your browser requests all chunks of the file from Filen's servers, decrypts them using the decryption key and then rebuilds the whole file again. This way you can be sure that your file is always secure and not readable by anyone unless they have the decryption key. Not even we now what you have uploaded. You can use Filen completely anonymous, but if you want to manage your uploads (history, delete, get links again etc.) you can create an account. Filen will only work with JavaScript enabled (obviously) and on the latest Browsers including Chrome, Firefox and Opera (Safari not tested). Expect a few bugs here and there since this is a public beta. We will constantly update the site. If you have any questions or suggestions feel free to post them here! Have a nice day :) RE: Filen.io - Client sided end-to-end encrypted file sharing platform - PAWG - Jun 13, 2020 I dig it, looks very simplistic and easy to use. Will be using this from now on, generous file size limit, all around great. RE: Filen.io - Client sided end-to-end encrypted file sharing platform - CinderGhoul - Jun 13, 2020 I like the idea, but the design makes me not use it. I feel like I am on some sort of deep web file uploading site. In my younger days, I would have liked it, but nowadays I prefer a lighter and more professional design with a white background. Why are the login register page forms so big. https://prnt.sc/sz73t5 That's just my personal opinion. Good luck with the project! RE: Filen.io - Client sided end-to-end encrypted file sharing platform - Xamarin - Jun 14, 2020 Nice idea, but you really need to work in the design. It looks like the default ASP.NET MVC template when you create a new project .. so I believe you should invest some time on this aspect. Other than that, good news that another player has joined this market! RE: Filen.io - Client sided end-to-end encrypted file sharing platform - Homesick - Jun 23, 2020 I do agree about the design. It is a cool concept but the design is where you're lacking. Reminds me of Github, Bootstrap or something like that - from a few years ago. I would love to see something modern and maybe a themed colour - not so much white / black. |
