The attitude some members have towards new users is despicable - Perileos - Jun 13, 2020 Hi there, I wanted to give my two cents about the behaviour some members display towards new members. Some thing are just not acceptable and I personally encountered some when I just signed up to this website. Do not get me wrong, I understand some new members are trollers but it does not mean all of them are. I have seen it all, outright a threatening, to doxxing (albeit not sharing their info here), intimidation and other bullshit. Or shit like this: ![]() Let's change together and prosper into positivity. RE: The attitude some members have towards new users is despicable - bluud - Jun 13, 2020 Agreed. I think members without colored names or multiple paid awards get a different treatment since they're new to the forum. It personally turned me off the forum initially although I gave it another chance and well.. here I am! I know there is some members who join the forum and just start extremely controversial topics in the lounge where they are trying to bait out responses just to 'troll' as you stated, but some new members are here to join an internet forum. Some people forget the latter exists. RE: The attitude some members have towards new users is despicable - Deany - Jun 13, 2020 Doxing hf members not allowed, if staff saw it they would get anally destroyed RE: The attitude some members have towards new users is despicable - Perileos - Jun 13, 2020 (Jun 13, 2020 02:39 AM)Deany Wrote: Doxing hf members not allowed, if staff saw it they would get anally destroyed They were merely subtle threats like "didn't know you ran a YouTube channel" when they never said anything about it. Stuff like those. Stuff like those. Subtle 'threats' per se I don't think are bannable. The only thing I see in the rules is that you can't disclose personal information regarding members. There should be a 1 day registered restriction on talking in the convo box. As far as the convo room I agree. Especially the ability to PM. It should also be extended to convo. (The 25 post requirement at least) RE: The attitude some members have towards new users is despicable - Filthy Frank - Jun 13, 2020 I'm not condoning these threats or whatever, but generally speaking, what's the target audience of hackforums? What I'm trying to say with this is that a portion of the userbase of HF is immature. Threatening others to doxx them over literally nothing but being newer sounds a bit immature imo. Also """"bullying"""" newcommers has been a 'problem' since I started using this site back in 2010. It's just immature to make a disction based on how new their profile is when it's more about the quality of the users' posts/behaviour. All you really can do about it is being nice to new people yourself and be an example for others to follow. I remember me saying this to a new member that "add me on Discord, need to talk". Refusing to do so, I explained to him that more members in the past wasted my time, so I needed to be paid upfront partially to be secure. If not, funny to see that more members are like that. But I would agree, if you aren't a multi-account or an arrogant 12 year old, you should be welcomed warmly and open armed! RE: The attitude some members have towards new users is despicable - Brаdley - Jun 13, 2020 Yeah I get what you are saying. But what I’ll tell you this, respect is earnt never given. We must know there is a big influx of new members and as you said lots of them are trolls, so you will know who the real members are when they introduce themselves and are polite. Unfortunately there is a lack of that and the older members kinda get abit frustrated with it. I would say if you have an issue with another member, have a chat to staff about it because unsociable behaviour isn’t tolerated. Yeah that’s why I said take it up with a staff member if you have an issue with unsociable behaviour. Sadly, I don't think being rude to other members is a 'against the rules' offense. He got a 50% warning, I think he didn't know the Help Docs existed haha. Joking of course, it is the rule to be polite with your posts and such, but a lot of members get away with 'provoking' on a small level. Just don't flame, threat or harass someone. Which I also mean for the new members begging for free advice, methods and "rep".
