Nessus? - Dave Darling - Jun 26, 2020 Hi all, I just ran across a hacking tool called Nessus, it is a rival for Metasploit + Armitage and Burp Suite. It looks nice but it turns out you must pay ~$2,500 per year to use it and keep your subscription. It had better be good! Does anyone out there have this and if so how is it? Thanks I have been checking out videos on this on YouTube and so far it seems SLICK, awesome, does everything for you and at the end gives you a report of all the security vulnerabilities it found which you can then patch. Does anyone out there have this? RE: Nessus? - TheCyb3rAlpha - Jun 26, 2020 Nessus is just a vulnerability scanner and nothing more. What you can do with Metasploit and BurpSuite is what we call "exploitation". Nessus only finds the vulnerabilities. I have the licensed version and it's pretty handy when I have to perform Vulnerability Assessment on a subnet or a lot of IPs. But ultimately, for Pen testing, I have to use Metasploit and sometimes burp in case of web app. There's just no comparison between the two of them. |
