Telnet Default Creds - bob45 - Jul 1, 2020

I heard one dude got about 500k devices just by brute forcing telnet. Does anybody know common default, factory set passwords for telnet?

Telnet is deprecated, you would be lucky to hack anyone through that good old protocol today buddy.

You'd be surprised how many people still use old OSes, old protocols and other flawed systems.

You're not wrong. The crazy part is that alot of government/military installations run off of unsupported Operating Systems to this day. They're too lazy to deal with all the migration that would come along with updating.

The problem is, Telnet is very, very dated. It's dated to the point where almost anybody who uses telnet is using it on purpose. I would be genuinely surprised to find any machine running off default credentials at this point.

Oh believe me I know, but I rarely/never see Telnet around anymore.
