In my exchange thread, I offered to go first to those I trusted because this is my first week back on the site in a few years, so I had no popularity or B-rating. I made the mistake of thinking that because he was a vendor that he was trustworthy. Despite that, I requested to do the transaction in two increments. He said yes, but then later said no. I should have backed out at that point. But, since I just wanted to get it over with, I continued on.
After I told him I sent it, he has responded only once to me saying: "Okay sir, after 1 confirmation i will send. Thank you".
I've sent a total of 4 PMs to him indicating that I sent payment. He has ghosted me and hasn't replied back, despite me intentionally sending him PMs when he was online (and he has been at least half a dozen times). I can see that he's read at least some of them, and probably denied read receipts on the others.
My last PM to him asked for a refund of the BTC to an address I specified, or the gift code. While I'm fairly confident he won't do either, if he does decide to send a gift code, I want to do it using a MM since I am doubtful he would send a legitimate code. I'm guessing he just hasn't seen enough traffic from HF and decided to exit scam.

If your so broke you need to steal $400 and destroy a great looking HF profile then they must be desperate.

Honestly I'd hit up https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=6081770 and see what info you can find on OP, and I am sure you will find a way to motivate them to return your stolen funds, legal action etc. Good luck mate.
