The IP address of sender. - N00b_n00b - Jul 11, 2020

Hello,
Can email reveal the IP address of the sender? For example, is it possible to block all emails that sending from a specific country?
If yes, then if sender use a VPN then its IP masked?

Thank you.

Yes you can. Look for X-Originating-IP in the SMTP header.
Doesn't work for a lot of web based email services like Gmail though.

I think a lot of web based emails do actually included the senders ip in the X-Originating-IP header to prevent abuse. Try checking an emails source and search for that header and do a lookup for the listed ip.

Hi, in order to get the IP you can try this:

1) go to cyberforensic .in/OnlineEmailTracer/index.apsx
2) in a new tab, open the email for which you want to trace the details
3) tap on the three dots near the reply button and click "show original"
4) now copy the email header box on the cyber forensic website and click "start tracking"

Doing this you should get the IP Address
