Profile rules - The Pact - Jul 20, 2020
I remember politics were not allow in profiles on HF but now when I read the Help Documents that seems to have been removed? I saw one person with something political in their profile.

Basically the same as all the other rules for a profile. Don't impersonate staff, flame members, use religious or political symbols and don't advertise a competing forum.
While the above rule is technically in reference to custom user titles, don't put anything in a profile that you think might cause a problem.

Huh, this is actually the first time I've ever heard of this rule.
I wonder why it was first introduced, like what caused it to be an actual rule, etc..

I'm confused because I got a notification that a staff member replied to this thread but it's gone now and I never read it. It's not a big deal anyway. I just saw something in a profile that might possibly offend some members but it's not a huge deal to me personally.

That's a notifications bug. Nothing major.
To answer your question, it was removed when NFA ban was lifted I think. I don't recall it has ever been a (bigger) problem but harassment/defamatory policy still applies so if you think it violates that please contact a staff member.
