Depending on what chipset you want it will vary, however, if you're just starting out with Kali Linux and playing around, I would recommend going with the Ralink RT307 chipset and going for the Alfa AWUS036NH adapter. It is around 15usd and for the price, it is perfect for learning.
I have had mine for a few years now and it has never failed me when I needed it. :)
