Just got a drawing tablet! - Malthemar - Aug 9, 2020 Yo, I just got a graphics tablet, and I am trying to get into drawing. I've never drawn before! Anybody got any tips for a beginner just starting out? Here is a tree a drew (sorry for the bad res, it was a small drawing on a huge resolution image)
RE: Just got a drawing tablet! - Lyralei - Aug 9, 2020 Congrats OP, drawing is fun and calming :). As for your question, it depends on what you want to do, you could go the design route and study vector illustrations if that's your thing, or you can delve into the deep hole that is concept/realist art, for that I'd say to watch some youtube videos on such topics. I would like to one day be able to draw and create a universe of adversaries and characters. I'm also personally studying those right now as well, while reading a book called "Figure Drawing Design and Invention by Michael Hampton" to help me out, and watching some youtube vids to motivate me. It's a bit of a harsh hobby sometimes and demotivating, but just keep at it since... you'll do it again anyway. >_> good luck to us! ^_^ RE: Just got a drawing tablet! - Chissa - Aug 21, 2020 What tablet did you get? Also what software are you using/going to use for art?? RE: Just got a drawing tablet! - Anubis - Aug 21, 2020 Which tablet did you get? I've actually always wanted to own one of these but I don't know how to draw at all. RE: Just got a drawing tablet! - Malthemar - Aug 21, 2020 I have a "One by Wacom". Not to be confused with the Wacom One. I use Photoshop to draw (: RE: Just got a drawing tablet! - Chissa - Aug 22, 2020 (Aug 21, 2020 06:51 PM)Malthemar Wrote: I have a "One by Wacom". Not to be confused with the Wacom One. If you're using photoshop, I highly recommend to turn on the old photoshop brushes form old version of photoshop. There is really great ones, but they are hidden by default in the new versions of photoshop. Also, if you want line smoothing, or persepctive and ruler tools in photoshop, there is a great plugin called LazyNezumi. It is quite cheap too. Do you have any good brushes you can share on photoshop or are you just using default ones? I'm looking to get one as well.
