I am new to hacking and I have a question I have an ubuntu 18.04 on my VM and its running SSH, HTTP, FTP, and SMTP they are basic configuration, and security is low. if I wanted to gain access to the server what can I do to gain it? links that can help teach will be the best

check http server, see if web application is vulnerable, if so exploit web app, get reverse shell.
check ftp server, see if it allows anonymous login, if so, see if u can get some info from ftp.
try to ssh/ftp with default ubuntu credentials.
