Dear HF,
Hopefully this is the right section for this thread, but how come it is SO EASY to trigger people nowadays?
Like I am in a Facebook Group for my city (because people do that these days) and I often just write a comment that is the opposite of the norm, which makes 50+ people start burning me with hateful comments, death threats and telling me to leave society.
And what I do is example: Someone in the group said "Please do not feed the ducks in the lakes bread, because mouse will swim and eat the bread, and then we will have more mouses"
And I just replied "I like to feed ducks, I think I will feed the ducks some more now".
And I find it just funny how in 2020 people really get so easily triggered and play the whole facebook police thing, when honestly, I just like to stir some shit up some times. Because I know how easy it is xD
Are you are person that gets easily offended on social media?

i think the pandemic is getting to some people and it has them on edge. i've been nearly cancelled over trying to politely decline to talk about politics with some people.

It's because they have nothing better to do; it's pathetic. It's one of the reasons I have quit using social media to connect with people. I only use social media nowadays to follow a few media pages and public political figures.
No, not at all. Don't get offended by something that happens on social media.

I think it's a combo of a lot of 'new' things.
1. PC - everything has to be PC, or "else"
2. Feelings - men aren't "men" anymore, and everybody got 'feelings' which end up being 'hurt' by someone online.
3. Diversity - we are all unique, yet related somehow. Saying something that doesn't feel unique is triggering others.
4. Internet - since we don't have the "weird thoughts" for ourselves anymore, we can share things online. Others might get offended by it or feel 'triggered' as even saying 'hi' could remind someone online of their ex bf who broke their heart.
5. REWARDING - we are f*cked up, by REWARDING those who got triggered. By either a law suit that they won, the 'boss' that got fired, or the 'Karen' that won from the manager. We are rewarding to be a pain in the ass.
I could go on and on about this. We are all screwed by those in control by diversity. We are all looking at each other and either labelling them or judging them because we think it's all about "us".
Like Michael Jackson said; "they don't really care about us" always remember that.

I dont think is because the pandemic (but it sure add up something to the combo) pple already was being offended by everyone and everything.
Do you know any of the pple making death threats? or are being just trolls behind a keyboard?
