SUPPORTING SCAMMING - What do you think? - rSM- - Nov 7, 2020 So after seeing a few people with already open disputes still posting in the marketplace and having their sales threads/contracts open, does this not support more scamming until that user is eventually banned? Would it make more sense that if a dispute was open against a seller, their entire marketplace privileges should be revoked until the dispute is resolved, that way they can't potentially scam other members? Many times I see users with 5-10 open disputes still pull in customers to scam until something is eventually done, but that is also 10+ people that could have been avoided if certain privileges were revoked until the dispute is deemed closed. Just a thought and probably said before, but what are y'alls opinions on it? No debates or bs pls, just interested in seeing different ideas from the community on how scamming can be slowed as it is still such a rampant thing on HF. Everything done so far has most definitely helped to combat scamming, such as the b-rating and whatnot but should there be more? and if so, what? Spoiler (Click to View) RE: SUPPORTING SCAMMING - What do you think? - dopey - Nov 7, 2020 Why don't you work on making a better reputation for yourself instead of busting Staff ass on why scamming is "supported" on HF. They have taken the best pre-cautiouns possible. RE: SUPPORTING SCAMMING - What do you think? - Stork - Nov 7, 2020 Revoking marketplace privileges because of a dispute would likely be abused by member and cost sellers time and money/lost sales. Funny, because I made this thread directly because of you. Knew you'd show up and say something sooner or later. I didn't sa scamming is being supported by staff one bit. If you actually took one minute to read the thread instead of the title, you'd understand. Obviously you can't read though, so just stick to scamming. https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=6120011 RE: SUPPORTING SCAMMING - What do you think? - dopey - Nov 7, 2020 (Nov 7, 2020 05:44 PM)rSM- Wrote: Obviously you can't read though, so just stick to scamming. Ironic because you said they've taken the best precautions possible when theres still more that can be done to fight it? Many other large forums have a very low scamming rate due to the nature of how they handle the marketplace. If you were to read, you'd see that I very clearly said that the b-rating and whatnot has most definitely helped with scamming, but theres always more they can do. Its just a matter of what could actually help stop more of it and how it would go about affecting the marketplace and what has been built so far in terms of contracts and such. Okay then, what do you think could help combat the scamming that is still a massive issue on HF? They held a contest and asked for people to drop negative reps. Quite odd but yeah RE: SUPPORTING SCAMMING - What do you think? - rSM- - Nov 7, 2020 (Nov 7, 2020 05:47 PM)Snyke Wrote: https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=6119426 Staff do seem to do a very good job at closing scammers when there is proof provided, but I've also seen the complete opposite, where a thread has been opened with copious amounts of proof and its just sat there for days with the scammer being untouched. I know they're trying their hardest and have done a wonderful job so far. I don't quite know the size of the team but for what I think is a relatively small team, everyone works hard to make the forum a great place. I think if instead of freezing or stopping the scammer. They should have it that if you plan to do business with the person if there's a dispute that should pop up for everyone willing to engage with the seller or buyer. I think showing currently opened disputes and also account creation date up front that states you seen it. I think it should be part of the contract. That you known done business even though you know that the account is newly created and there's neg rep and open disputes. I don't think stopping the person automatically would be the answer but like if 5 or 10 disputes pop up then there should be a freeze on doing any business in the market place. However, why do you want to do business on hackfourms? like what's good about the market place why do people risk dealing with other people that might scam them ? A lot of buyers seem to miss that sellers have open disputes and negative b-ratings on them somehow, and this would completely mitigate that as it could be like a checkable box that says "I still agree to do business with this member". As for the marketplace, a lot of it is saturated garbage that usually are scams like the tools and ebooks, but sometimes you find that one off thing or whatnot that you may like and decide to purchase. I've mainly purchased pizza hut accounts and whatnot on here as I don't have a need for anything else, but something like Rane's twitch adbot and whatnot I was taking a look at and decided to purchase because I knew that would actually work. Some don't find interest in the marketplace as they don't have a need to which I used to be until I took a look around and found some shit I wanted. Other than that, I don't really use it at all. I haven't used it but have looked but to me it looks like most are scams. There's ebooks make $2,000 a week which is bs. there' ebooks how to make money and other things. There's then accounts but I feel the accounts might be stolen and they might be legit meaning they sell you a stolen account where you can login and use it but by doing so you might trip security systems in place that locks up the account. Which I personally think it's too much of a hassel I would rather pay full price then worry if the item is hot or not. I just look there and there's no much. Why do people want bots? Members with open disputes should first have them resolved before they continue enjoying markeplace privileges. RE: SUPPORTING SCAMMING - What do you think? - Rezon ® - Nov 11, 2020 Going to be hard to do this, a lot of wasted time from Admins, would need to be automated. |
