Mobile - Condense Profile Section in Thread - debug - Nov 18, 2020
Hi,
Just a little thing I noticed on mobile. The 'profile' section of a user's post takes up a lot of space when scrolling through a thread. Might be worth making that section 2 columns so it reduces the space.

I personally think the design of posts on HF would benefit greatly from only displaying a limited amount of awards, but I think a revolt would happen! 😵

Crazy to see how now everyone has so many awards these days. Back in the day having 5 was like crazy high.

I think that only 1 row would be nice to display, that way most people would also make their first award row more important. I don't think a revolt would happen, as long as the main site would stay the same.

Well, I do agree that less awards would look nice, but many people are paying thousands of dollars for them, so not displaying all of them would be kind of annoying for those who spend so much money on them.

Can confirm. First two rows are more than $8000. There is an option for members to hide their own awards in full. I believe hiding individual awards was denied during some feedback/comments on that announcement.

I tend to agree, they paid money for the right to have as big of a post bit as they want.
Just make a userscript that hides the award box :shrug:

The scroll isn't that bad most of the time. Some redesign could happen eventually. Not high on the todo list.

I like and prefer the current layout much better than the one you presented if I'm being 100% honest. It just looks to bunched up next to each other like that, whereas it looks nice and clean right now imo.
edit: Maybe if anything there could be an option to use the old school theme (where it goes across the top of the post).

I love seeing the awards, now... I am not an avid HF user on my phone, but it does not annoy me that the profile is there with awards, I do believe some kind of "hide" functionality could be made for those who wish for it, but for me, everything can stay the same in this specific scenario.

HF only has one theme. We offer color choices. That’s it.
