How often do you have the windows and curtains open in winter and other seasons. - The Pact - Nov 24, 2020
I have had friends telling me I was ruining my house from not opening windows and curtains much. How often do you do it in winter?

I never do it in the winter.. it's too damn cold for that mess.
Run the heat and rubber seal the windows and doors.. fugg that.

how does it ruin the house? I have never heard that one before and no I don't do that. That would just increase your heating bill. maybe that is what your friends what you to do is to increase your heating bill. You don't ruin your house by not doing this.
turning summer or spring you're supposed to air out the house and clean your filters that's about it.

I don’t really open windows unless Smokey from cooking in the kitchen. I’ll open curtains if it’s sunny sometimes nice to get some natural light in!

The only reason not to for me is due to spiders or shit coming in. Otherwise I love windows open. Keeps shit fresh though I got some air purifers for when it's closed. Dust is the enemy of mankind. Blankets are there for if it's too chilly. Curtains closed is okay at night but otherwise bleak.

I’ve never heard of this, didn’t know that not opening your windows did anything to be honest. During the Winter it’ll definitely run up the heat bill though.
I open my windows whenever I’m smoking in my room or just need some air but always for short periods of time. However during the warmer seasons I keep it open quite often.

I agree windows should be opened to circulate air. If you’re heating your place and the central fan is on your fine. If the central system is off/non existent then yeah windows are necessary or else you won’t get any fresh air.
I only open my windows if I’m cooking in the winter.

Even when it's cold I try and air the place out at least once or twice a month, I'll just put a hoodie on. It's a pet peeve.

Practically every day. Not only to ventilate the apartment but just let in some fresh frosty air. After such treatments, I can breathe much better🙂

Learned it the hard way and now I open it every single day during the winter for a few minutes. What I mean by learning it the hard way is that I used to not open the window at all during the winter and then I got the worst sore throat and cough for 2 weeks. After I got healthy again, the next week I began experiencing the same health problems. Went to a doctor and my doctor said that they're 100% sure it's because of no fresh air coming in due to closed windows. Then I started opening the window every single morning for 5 - 10 minutes and afternoon for 5 - 10 minutes and haven't experienced any health issues since.
