RE: Malware to damage PC parts? - ItsJigSaw - Dec 1, 2020 U could exploit GPU drivers and force them to crank up the voltage which would lead to GPU dying. RE: Malware to damage PC parts? - ThisBearScat - Dec 4, 2020 Most hardware focused malware is run my government organisations and not in public hands, all with the exception of trickbot which is private and has recently implemented a uefi malware component to allow it to retain persistence on the device by being stored in the uefi chip, this allows the malware to stay on the system even if the os is erased and reinstalled. This kind of method makes it extremely hard to remove the malware but this is also the first private group that is not government run to impliment a hardware vulnerability into their malware. Most hardware focused malwares use zero days. Take stuxnet as an example created by the US to target irans nuclear program and used no less than 4 0days (possibly more) 0days are not just handed around so you are left with methods like over clocking, frying the motherboard with a failed update or a method that can't be spoke about on here. If you gather up information on your target you can rat their pc and install overclocking tool correspondent to the motherboard/GPU, that's how id go about it. This sounds like a fun project though... hmmm......................................
