Getting pretty damn bored here, about to book a flight out there.
Does anyone here stay out there, visited, or have any suggestions? :)

Dude. Flights are sooo freaking cheap right now too. $150 Round Trip on a good flight.
AirBnB at an entire house on the water, luxury house, like $100 a night. It's insane how cheap it is there.

I asked my AirBnB host about this and he said all is well. All of the ratings in the area for other properties are all amazing and recommend how safe it is.

I was born in Puerto Rico, recently theres been tons of earthquakes out there, and the pandemic has alot of places shut down at the moment. I go there every once in a while to visit family, wasn't able to go this past year tho. It is a beautiful island, beaches are warm as fuck.

Are you going to San Juan? Might be a nice spot since it’s by the port and is more of a tourist attraction.

I just checked HᴇʀᴍᴇS , you're exactly right. They've got some really nice hotels for $100 too! Not sure when I'll be able to make it down there but it just jumped up pretty high up there on the list of things that need to happen.

I've been looking at Costa Rica. Seems safer, better nature, better accommodation. More expensive though.

San Juan is full of crime and shit. Id suggest checking out the west side of the island, not as crazy as San Juan.
And if you're into learning about the indigenous culture of boriken (boriken is the original name of the island before the Spanish took over) then id suggest you check out Centro Ceremonial Indígena de Tibes, which is located in Ponce. (If they're open that is)
I would of also suggested the observatory in Arecibo but it recently collapsed and has been shut down.
Another word of advice, almost everything is in Spanish, even the stop signs. And be careful driving out there if you get a rental, drivers can be ape shit crazy, especially at night. Some people like to casually run red lights.

I havent been to Costa Rica, but as a Puerto Rican I can tell you the nature in PR is magnificent. I can't say much about Costa Rica since I haven't been there yet. And PR is US territory, Costa Rica is in central America, and crazy shit goes down over there so idk about it being safer. If you do goto PR just avoid San Juan, the west side of the island is alot safer. But then again, anything can happen anywhere on this earth so no matter where you go, always be safe and alert.
