Making a good quality GPU mining rig or buy an ASIC miner? - PR1V473 - Feb 8, 2021

Basically, the ASIC miners are very...very hard to find nowadays. I am not talking about the old ones, but rather about the Innosilicon A10+ pro to be precise. This bad boy does 750mh/s with only around 1600w.

What is the best GPU to mine with?

8 x RX580 8GB or 2 x 3080/3090 ?

Neither of them.

The most effective GPU's right now are the RX 5700XT and the Nvidea 3060 TI's.
If you can find those for good prices .

After ETH 2.0 is released sometime 2022, do u think mining on ETH will be obsolete?

When that happens all the mining farms will redirect to some other algo for sure.

Comparing the RX5700XT to the 3090

Ok, im laying down the facts here.
With the going price for the 5700 being about £500 and the 3090's stock price of £1500 if your lucky enough to get them for that price.
The 5700 would take roughly 4.2 months to return the initial investment to be in profit and the 3090 would take 5.2 months for the initial turn around.
After that though, you would be getting roughly £117 a month profit on the 5700 as opposed to £258 profit a month on the 3090
Realistically if you had the £1500 for a 3090 I would suggest 2x 5700's which would be roughly the same amount of power usage as 1x3090.
If power isn't an issue though and you did have £1500, maybe go for 3x5700's.

You may however want to look into proof of stake as AMD cards won't be too useful in the long run.
Nvidia's on the other hand will still be good to go.

Sidenote:My mining rig consists of 2x1660Ti's 2x3070's and 2x3090's

Costs about £130 a month to run but brings in about £1100 a month and gets about 411/412MH
