Anyone use HitBTC? - Orchid - Feb 14, 2021

So, went to purchase some Polkastarter from HITBTC, deposited some ETH, boom. Account limited. Cant withdraw or exchange until my KYC gets completed (broad issue at the moment I guess)

Just wondering if anyone actively trades with HITBTC or deposits / withdrawals

I used to use them actively in ~2017 to buy the low cap gems that weren't on Polo/Trex/Binance. I don't think KYC was enforced back then, so I can't assist you on that front. I do hear from time to time that HitBTC does give people trouble when it comes to withdrawals.

Yea… I’m confident they will resolve the issue though. I think a lot of people are freaking out.

Something tells me you failed KYC for a reason. Seems like your own issue since you “gave up.”

I've heard plenty of horror stories about HitBtc. If you google "hitbtc scam" it'll find plenty of search results.

Would avoid using it if possible and not trust with large amounts.

in hitbtc terms of service (2.2 g) there's a list of restricted countries. the problem is if u're from usa or ... they let u sign up and deposit but u'll be not able to withdraw. they'll ask u to do KYC and lock ur account. u can try to spam their help service.the result differs depending on the case.
in their terms of service is noted that if u're from restricted countries they'll force u the withdraw and close ur account, but usually it does not happen like that...

That's a pretty scammy yet typical shit to do. Reminds me of Paypal back in the day.
OP if you need a person from the US to get your account unlocked, feel free to reach out to me. Not sure if that would help your situation but just in case the offer is there. Good luck hopefully it's not too much locked up.

So I asked if anyone ‘uses’ HITBTC. I did not ask for someone to give me their opinion after they Google ‘HITBTC scam’

Thank you for the offer

Never heard of HitBTC but I just checked out their site and it's laggy as can be, charts load atrociously slow, and it doesn't seem to offer as many coin options as say Binance does for example.

I used to use them until they did kyc. They gave everyone a few weeks to withdrawal.

RE: Anyone use HitBTC? - Dopamine - Feb 14, 2021

First time I've heard this exchange it was in 2017 and back in the day it was already a shitty exchange. Glad to see that things haven't changed.. sorry for your loss!

RE: Anyone use HitBTC? - SIM-1866423 - Feb 14, 2021

No, why ?

1) They will never enforce KYC until you withdraw(thats sneaky mfs here)
2) Fee's are beyond logic
3) Their support is extremely retarded and slow, they will not try to actually help you if you want to withdraw but deposit.

RE: Anyone use HitBTC? - Recon12345 - Feb 15, 2021

Careful OP. Hitbtc is shady. I remember I have tried to do the arbitrary thing with them. You know they listed LSK (at the time) Selling for 1$ on their site but the price was 1.80$. So basically I thought "DAMN if I buy it from HITbtc for 1.00$ and sell it on some other market for 1.80$ that's 80% profit just like that DAMN!)

So I went with 100$ in because I read lots of negative reviews about hitbtc being scammers and shit. All cool with my KYC and everything, I deposited the funds all went cool but when I was about to withdraw the LISK to my LISK wallet, surprize, LISK transactions blocked.

Now I did know it was too beautiful to be true but hey, the point of the story is they are shady and doing shady business even if it is not related to your issue, just take care. I never used them after that. Never will in the future.

I used them back in 2017. Back when there weren't any KYC. Miss those times smh.
