Does a lot payments coming from shoppy.gg potentially lock your PayPal? - OfficialPong - Feb 15, 2021

If you get a decent amount of purchases from your shoppy.gg shop into your PayPal, does PayPal lock or ban your account if you normally do not get that many transfers in your PayPal?

As for limitations it would likely depend on the number of disputed transactions, so it would, again, likely depend on your clientele and what you're selling.

The problem is that I am currently using shoppy to convert prepaid debit cards into PayPal money. So I can't use crypto

I don't know any payment gateway that won't give you trouble accepting debit/cards.
So just accept the risk on taking up debit/credit cards as a payment.

I've heard you might end up limited with shoppy (and amy other website like this) but I've not experienced this personally.

Shoppy.gg is a relatively safe processor to use for the short-term but you need to know that the payments could be easily traced in the case of Shoppy.

I would suggest Rocketr.

As long as you aren't put under a review, you should be fine. Limitations can be based on anything, number of disputes, new/high level of activity, or even randomly holding balances that you're not supposed to hold. PayPal is very shady with their limitations and policies so it's basically a bullet you'd have to dodge.

i would NOT recommend shoppy for crypto or paypal. they are very well known to sometimes "lose" big payments when it comes to crypto. and yes paypal can ban/limit you especially depending on what your selling.

Is stripe a good alternative when using Shoppy? Will they put any limitations on me?

Is Stripe a good alternative? I haven't heard anything bad about stripe, and it could also work with shoppy for what im doing

Stripe is definitely a better alternative. Its not a merchant platform, its a payment processor. They do not have limitations etc. like PayPal.

In a real situation stripe would be a better alternative, OP is trying to convert prepaid debit cards into PayPal money which doesn't even require a shoppy account at all lol. Also, if OP decides to use stripe, they would lock his account almost immediately after detecting multiple cards used at the same location, paypal won't lock his account.

What would you recommend, because adding prepaids straight to my PayPal to convert them would get my account locked, so I was assuming if they came as payments they would seem less "weird" ig.

Don't add them to your account, if the prepaid card has $50 on it create a paypal button for $50 and pay. https://www.paypal.com/buttons/
