ENS Domains and Browsers - Omniscient - Feb 19, 2021

Do any browsers yet offer native support for ENS domains? I tested Brave, Firefox, and Chrome. None work yet with .eth, .coin, or .bit.

It's hard to like the current centralized aspects of DNS. Currently with gas prices so high and the network slow I wonder how well it's functioning.

Anyone running a website with crypto DNS based domain yet?

If you set up DNS through HTTPS via Cloudflare, it supports unstoppable domains (.crypto)

That's obviously not native support, but it's as close as one can get without browser extensions.

I didn't know that. I'll look into it. .crypto isn't the most attractive domain though unless you have an actual crypto project.

There is also .zil available form Unstoppable which run on the Zilliqa blockchain (compared to Ethereum BC for .crypto).

I'm not so sure I'm a fan of their pricing structure for their domains though.

.zil ain't so great either. But it's better I suppose. I wanted to get a .eth but heck they want like $300 txn fee with metamask. Insane!

Omni when are you gonna come over and join us at Handshake? I still have your last name saved for you. You can also claim the .hackforums/ tld and get free 500 $HNS.

No support for ENS yet on Brave but they're looking into it. I know metamask resolves them.

I think Omni should come join us at Handshake 😁😁

Honestly surprised more people aren't talking about this given that these are technically NFT's too, but with actual use.
