Clickable Testimonial award - Who Soup - Mar 23, 2021

It would be nice to be able to click someone's testimonial award and it takes you straight to their post opposed to having to hover over it and type the link into your browser.

Just a suggestion 😎

I support this. Would read more of them this way

When someone earns the award the link to their post is in the award reason which you can just copy and paste without typing. Don't see a point in this personally to make a single award clickable

Yeah I have previously thought this. I never end up typing it out, too much hassle.

Again I don't understand why you guys are typing it out when you can just copy and paste it....

Doesn't allow me to do that. I think it disappears whenever I attempted.

What browser are you using? Are you on mobile?

Chrome. It's simply not possible to copy the link

Strange I use Chrome too and have no problem

Same I’m on chrome, it doesn’t give me the option to highlight or copy.

Brave Browser acts the same way too.

I agree with this suggestion.

If any of you guys had stopped to use the search feature you would have found this suggestion https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=5912830&highlight=click+awards

I feel like only having this one wouldn’t damage the site’s SEO potential since it would all be pointing to a singular section and not scattering them across various pages. That’s definitely a valid concern though, and if it was implemented it should only be for this particular award and nothing else. Not only would it index a lot of praise towards HF for the search engines to pick up while searching for the site, I think it would help in bringing back a better sense of community as people can look up what different users intents are here. A better option might be a simple plugin that scrapes the URL and targets a new tab/window to view their testimony. I’d offer to make it but Xerotic once called my code sloppy (which it admittedly is) so I’ll leave it to him or someone else who wants to take the initiative.

I'll pass on doing that.
