2033 NYSE and NASDAQ Tokenize and 100% DeFi - Omniscient - Apr 2, 2021
It's 2033 and crypto is worth $100 Trillion global market cap. Sixteen countries have stopped printing paper currency and have issued a stablecoin token backed by Bitcoins held by the country. Both Nasdaq and NYSE using DeFi blockchain technology have converted all stocks into tokens. All new IPO's are technically now ICO's. The SEC tightly regulates these issuances. There is KYC and AML to partake. All stocks are traded by DeFi now but there is still some centralization by Nasdaq and NYSE to ensure against fraud, theft, and money laundering.
It's 2033, do you know where your tokens are?

Question from a crypto holder who doesn't understand the full utility of having access to tokens:
I have Bitcoin in online wallets (Blockchain, Coinbase, etc.),
But not access to the actual tokens themselves.
Is this an issue? Is there innate benefit in having access to the actual tokens themselves?

The innate benefit is that you will have control of your own funds. If coinbase and blockchain vanished overnight would you be able to access your funds? Dont think its not possible, as it has happened time and time again.
Ask the people of venezuela, turkey, iran, hong kong, china, russia and more. How much they value the idea of owning and controlling your own funds. When these centralized entities inevitably backstab you, you will know what was the right choice.

I think the power belongs to the people. If we decide not to buy or appreciate it on $0. It means its value is 0. So basically they can't control it.

I'm currently actively trying to 'create' a brain wallet.
As in: I'm trying to remember my seed phrase. Always. At any time.
This is obviously just as a backup, I don't want to lose access to all of my funds if someone hits me on my head..
But still, I think it can be kinda reassuring to know that whatever happens to the place(s) you store your crypto you still know your private key.

In the early to mid of last century stock trading used to be on trading floor..shouting/creaming and with hand signs
They were replaced by trading floors with paper notes and tabs
Till a decade back there used to me paper version of stock certificates and they were replaced digital delivery
Soon the digital version will be replaced with blockchain and may NASDAQ/NYSE will be obsolete as these tokenized stocks can be traded on a any exchange in the world..may the current exchanges will acts as authorized contract creators

Would be cool to have a form of neural link to an online/cold wallet which can be used without any hardware/physical material needed at any pos.

Yeah, the new 1% are the mega early adopters with hands made out of literal diamonds.
Depends though, I'd imagine there'll always be huge economic rifts under any capitalistic society so yeah.
