Girl faking Tourette's Syndrome for Clout - Connected - May 2, 2021

So this girl on TikTok has decided to try and fake Tourette's Syndrome on TikTok for "clout". She posted a video of her showing her "tics" in which she tries to replicate a bunch of symptoms all while laughing at herself. Honestly seeing something like this is utterly disgusting.

TikTok Video in question: https://www.reddit.com/r/Cringetopia/comments/n1f5g6/girl_fakes_tourettes_disorder_for_tiktok_fame/

Video of her promoting her business and magically not having any tics: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eWfgtgncRbY

She has turned off likes/dislikes since people have caught wind of all of this and deletes any comments about this situation.

As for the video, it's just a video with multiple cuts, people with Tourette's don't actually have tics 24/7, or at least not all of them, think about Billie Eilish. So if that's the only proof, I think it's pretty lame. But what do we know, she might actually be faking it, it'd just be so cringe I don't think any person would go so far.

There's plenty of videos on the YouTube channel if you want to look through them. It's also pretty apparent from the TikTok video she made that if she is not faking it she is severely exaggerating it.

Also did you try clicking the link again? I messed it up when i first posted.

I do agree she might be exaggerating but I've seen worse tics (from people who were actually diagnosed with Tourette's) so I can't tell, I just think the fact that she's deleting comments and such is perfectly justified, nobody should feel the need to explain their conditions and people insisting get kinda annoying. On the other hand, trying to gain followers by showing off things like that with the excuse of "normalizing" it, is kinda dumb, whether she actually has Tourette's or not, so she's still dumb for that.

If you're using your disability to promote yourself, it's perfectly justifiable for people to insist on clarification. Especially if there's good reason to question it.

yikes, I feel bad for people who actually have Tourettes and have to deal with people like this. I really despise people who fake stuff for attention.

I've seen it from a couple TikTokers that my partner follows. Absolutely hate it and feels obvious with some people.

Didn't even need to look further into your links, this is absolutely not surprising.
Some folks will do anything to get attention and drum up the sympathy. She is going to go into full victim mode and blame it on anything else.

That's low af... also one of the many reasons why I'm not using tiktok or any other social media.

I removed TikTok after seeing too many teens and young adults (f*cking kids) act like they are seductive, "hot" or worse..
Not even talking about the huge narcissists and other toxic environment that is exposed to many followers.

TikTok seemed like a potential platform for free, yet huge amount of audience targeting..
After signing up I found out it's manipulating the algorithms in such way the 'plot' videos (watch to find out) are causing you to see more of those. And all the pedophiles on TikTok watching way to young children dance in too revealing clothing for some "likes". Pa-the-tic.
