Where would groups be if buy-ins didnt exist? - Ruggzee - May 22, 2021 Where do you guys think groups would be value wise and importance wise if buy ins did not exist / was not allowed? When I had my group, I refused to allow any buy ins. But hell, even crews are looking for buy ins these days. Any ways, curious on what you all think? RE: Where would groups be if buy-ins didnt exist? - Lavish Living - May 22, 2021 deader than they already are. RE: Where would groups be if buy-ins didnt exist? - Blockonome - May 22, 2021 I will be the first one to say, I think buyins motivate all parties to be more active within their respected community. In Heresy crew, there is good activity every single day :) RE: Where would groups be if buy-ins didnt exist? - neiqhtworks. - May 22, 2021 I don't think the issue is buy-ins, I think it's groups branding themselves has Achievers when the only achievement they require is $100. RE: Where would groups be if buy-ins didnt exist? - neiqhtworks. - May 22, 2021 [mention=4227846] Ur bad To be fair the only thing that makes you different is your name, the same cookie cutter buy-in group has plagued us all. RE: Where would groups be if buy-ins didnt exist? - Telstra - May 22, 2021 I think it would be better. 2014-2016 when I was active no one had buy ins and groups were actually a real community. Groups now are pay for userbar and a coloured name and that's it. G RE: Where would groups be if buy-ins didnt exist? - Zero - May 22, 2021 Probably less groups as it's expensive. Although, I was too stingy I think with who I let in, but also after buying the group i realized I didn’t have / want to put the time into it. I wasn’t around back then, but yeah...wish there more no buy ins, kinda sucks to see the section spammed with buy in, buy in, buy in...feels tacky. (Just my opinion) RE: Where would groups be if buy-ins didnt exist? - Bankrupt - May 23, 2021 Yeah i mean tbh i think if there is initial buy-ins it helps with group upgrades ontop of the price of a base group. As for the community it helps keep people motivated to give a shit to interact with the group they have access too. i know most people who get invited to something and have no incentive to interact, are probably not going to interact. Correct: I remember busting my ass off to get into the brotherhood back in the day. Was well worth it. Invite only makes members work to get invited. Buy-in are too easy and the end result is less high quality. Put the time in too get noticed and get invited for free. RE: Where would groups be if buy-ins didnt exist? - Zeus - May 23, 2021 I mean buyins keep the group active, pays for many stuff within the group upgrades/sticky’s/tags/bytes for all the advertising that goes into it. I give out free monthly memberships too and no I don’t charge them after it finishes if they contribute and have perks actually help the group out the ones who put in the effort usually get lifetime free simple. The buyin option is there for the lazy people who cba with all that stuff and are there just for the features, or that want to help out the group and see it going far. I mean check my stats and contracts I got 100 buyins within 6 months of starting a group. Keep motivated build the community it’ll grow if you give up you’ll get nowhere. That isn’t just for groups thought overall in life. Without buyins you’ll see a group change owners 5x in one year. When they go broke and decide to quick sell. RE: Where would groups be if buy-ins didnt exist? - Vince - May 23, 2021 I mean, still dead. Doesnt matter if people bought in, or earned their way in. Just no one cares anymore outside of the owner and the leaders and that's mainly because of financial reasons. Things have changed over the years and groups and such arent as enticing as they used to be back in like 2014-2015. RE: Where would groups be if buy-ins didnt exist? - Ruggzee - May 23, 2021 I can’t speak on the older times as I wasn’t around. But it is sad how tacky the buy ins look. With the right members, money can still be raised for nice community events. From older members I have heard the overall quality of members has gone down, and maybe that’s why everything is the way it is now. I know when I had my group, I just was too busy running both my IRL businesses I just didn’t have time for it, and I still refused buy ins. I will say this...this group scene now is just copy cat after copy cat...probably has been for years...couple cool groups but I’d say most look pretty tacky sadly. |
