Looking for a good walkthrough to packet sniffing/carving. - laguerre2 - Jun 2, 2021 I haven't had an active account on this forum in years, so had to create a new one, and am looking to relearn some things I used to know. I've got an AWUS036ACH, and Wireshark. Is there a good guide to what I should do next? I'd especially like to know how to capture traffic on an unsecured wifi network, and then use a carving program (or whatever they're called now) to poke through and find password hashes, or even just plaintext messages. I'm using Windows, which I know doesn't help. RE: Looking for a good walkthrough to packet sniffing/carving. - linkinpork - Jun 2, 2021 Hi, I think what you're looking for is MITM (Man-in-the-Middle) attacks. Monitor mode is not really required for the job. Here's the link to Bettercap: https://www.bettercap.org/ . Goodies introduced me to Airgeddon https://github.com/v1s1t0r1sh3r3/airgeddon . Both run on Linux. Installation instructions are on the Git. Cheers! |
