Advice for someone trying not to gamble? - Doc - Jun 11, 2021 I've developed a bit of an issue frequently losing all of my bytes to slots (sometimes being up 55k) and, after realizing I can't seem to control myself and stop gambling further even after winning a large amount from it, I've decided it's probably best I just stay away from it entirely. Any other gamblers here have any tips for making sure you don't gamble? I know self-banning is available, but I'd prefer not to go that route, simply because I enjoy talking to my friends here on HF and would prefer to try other options. For now, the main obvious idea I've come up with is to simply not visit the slots page for any reason and to quit flipping entirely, as sometimes I begin flipping, win a bit of money from it, and then decide to go to slots to try for the jackpot. I've noticed I tend to fall into this "gamble until zero" mode especially when I'm bored with nothing else to do, so I'm gonna be working to keep myself busy/pre-occupied with something whenever the urge to gamble comes about. So, thought I'd make a short thread to see if those with more experience gambling/quitting gambling might have any advice, as gambling is something I haven't had much experience with until now, so yeah. Thanks! RE: Advice for someone trying not to gamble? - emotionull - Jun 11, 2021 I would suggest learning the term "Diamond hands." Well the thing that has helped me stopped is just stop complete because everytime I gamble I take L's 🤣 RE: Advice for someone trying not to gamble? - The - Jun 11, 2021 Take a look at statistics and realize you are throwing away your money. I'm already well aware I'm throwing away my money, that's why I made this thread RE: Advice for someone trying not to gamble? - ▋▋▋▋▋▋▋▋▋▋▋▋ - Jun 12, 2021 Well i don't really remember how i got away from it. I was betting CSGO items mainly back in the day on pro games and made a good profit for what i started with but lost it due to being retarded and not going away with what i earned. After some more bets, starting to play lottery and place smaller bets on sport games i stopped suddenly and never really touched it again other than here with bytes. I think the best way to start is to look for somethings that demands your attention and you'll slowly forget about it/ see it not as necessary as you think it is rn. RE: Advice for someone trying not to gamble? - Net - Jun 12, 2021 I mean, as long as you're not losing real money it isn't that bad. Just remember that investing is better than gambling. I can't gamble at all, it's too much of the sunk cost and I feel like shit over it. Investing I can just put money somewhere and leave it. |
