Ethereum Node Solar Project - shreder - Jun 21, 2021 I really wanted to build a system and run it under solar from my home. I decided to sync up an Ethereum node on a new system since there were some deals lately. Specifications: Ryzen 5 3400g 16GB DDR4 RAM 2TB Nvme A300 Pulls about 15-30w, I think solar would be possible for this. In fact, I've seen people run their ETH 2 validator on a RPI completely on solar too wanted to attempt it myself. Spoiler (Click to View) Anyone else running an Ethereum node? RE: Ethereum Node Solar Project - FaberCastell - Jun 21, 2021 what do you get out of it? RE: Ethereum Node Solar Project - SIM-1866423 - Jun 21, 2021 Nah there plenty other decent project i dont wanna waste my time with ETH RE: Ethereum Node Solar Project - shreder - Jun 21, 2021 (Jun 21, 2021 03:25 PM)FaberCastell Wrote: what do you get out of it? A full Node in general allows you to directly interact with the chain rather than trusting a provider to do so for you. You can read more about it here https://ethereum.org/en/developers/docs/nodes-and-clients/ RE: Ethereum Node Solar Project - Tommie R - Jun 21, 2021 So is this what my fellow nerds do, huh? Haha. That's cool though, running on solar power. RE: Ethereum Node Solar Project - Marvelous - Jun 21, 2021 (Jun 21, 2021 06:33 PM)Tommie R Wrote: So is this what my fellow nerds do, huh? Haha. Im sure you can power a Pi with solar. RE: Ethereum Node Solar Project - shreder - Jun 22, 2021 (Jun 21, 2021 08:10 PM)Marvelous Wrote: Dogefather Elon would be so proud! Lmao. Yep people run their eth2 validator off rpi which only draws about 10w. But most use Infura as an ETH1 node. AFAIK it's theoretically possible to run both on a Raspi 4 but that's nothing I'd do. But as you already have your staking rig, why not try out to run your ETH2 node on a Raspi and connect to your Eth1 node on your rig. Just don't have both ETH2 validators running at the same time :D RE: Ethereum Node Solar Project - shreder - Jun 22, 2021 (Jun 22, 2021 01:21 PM)T0Bi Wrote: But most use Infura as an ETH1 node. I have an RPI 3 which specifications are not sufficient. RE: Ethereum Node Solar Project - math560 - Jun 23, 2021 I would like to do that but I don't have enough sun at all in my location haha. I need to moveee damn I hate my place |
