Depends on what your thread is about. There are 72 tags for you to choose from. You have a lot of options.

Read about color psychology in marketing, then decide on it.
I'm not sure how much a sales-tag affects the sales though.

I'd suggest that u save up your money and buy a sticky right after u make a few sales without the tag. If your service has at least 1 good vouch and it's an interesting service, you will get more exposure with the 7 day sticky.
