Specific Board Post Counts - neiqhtworks. - Sep 13, 2021

I'm sure it's possible, however I have no idea the amount of processing power it would take since the forum is so large.

This metric but for entire forums:

Post activity is visible on each specific persons profile however that is a quite round about way to compare. This type of implementation could potentially bring healthy competition and liveliness. I believe back in the day this would have been more of a pissing contest however now with the forums putting more attention to post quality I don't believe it would still be the case.

Sorry if this has been suggested before.

It's a fun idea that would be cool to have, but the amount of posts that HF has makes this an expensive query.

However... let's say you limit this to posts made in the past month. Now you have a very fast query and probably a more interesting stat that won't be locked to a past big-poster.

My only issue with making it monthly type statistic is that monthly contests tend to die out, I believe it would lose its interesting factor very quickly if it is the main focus. While yeah people like Vitani's Mate and Grin will be at the top of the lounge (if we allow closed members) will likely be locked at the top, they earned that.

Realistically there's very few boards that will have actual big poster and several boards will have top posters at under 1000.

What if it didn't have to rescan all of the board when loaded? What if all of that had its own table? Then it would only really need to be ran once and then just updated whenever a user posts?

There is a lot of logic around post counts beyond just incrementing when a post is made.

Yeah I was thinking about that more after I said it, even if it was as straight forward as that that would be creating a field for every board on millions of entries.

I just want to know who has the most posts in the Equilibrium sub-forum.

Sorry if this has been suggested before.

I feel certain users will abuse this option if given with alot of low quality posts
