Add "Average Price Paid" to crypto game - Lrrr - Nov 3, 2021

I am lazy and I don't like holding tons of coins with a spreadsheet to tell me what my average acquiring cost was. It would make sense to add this to the crypto game.

Example:

I buy 1,000 coins @ $1.00
My acquiring Price is 1.00
Price goes up to $2.00
I buy an additional 1,000 coins @ $2.00
My acquiring Price is now $1.50

I like this idea, gives it a more realistic feeling.

Yea it would be pretty simple and handy to have

I also think this feature could bring more activity into the crypto game, and potentially help the bytes situation

I actually don't think it's plausible because what if you buy 100 @ $10, sell 50 @ $25, buy 20 @ $17. You get the picture. What's the average of that? And it can absolutely get very complicated as a formula with multiple buys and sells at various prices.

And to expand in case that doesn't sound hard to calculate.

Let's say you buy 100 @ $10, then another 100@ $20. You sell 100. What's the average price you have the 100 left? Did you sell the 100 you bought at $10 or $20?

I know it's possible but realize the coding for getting this exact is a pain in the arse.

I've had a ton of fun playing cryptogame lately, and I think the cryptogame is a sleeper In terms of people using bytes on the site. It's super fun to put your predictions to the test with something other than money, but as you know with trading games statistics are always really nice for the player.

Would it be possible to allow the transaction metrics in crypto game (the one that shows me all my buys/sells) to be exported as a CSV or other form of plain text, yet importable data format?

Would adding the crypto game to API (or at-least read only on transactions) be something that could be done? Then I could just write a python script to download the JSON and do whatever I want with it. Maybe even a full fledged "trading platform" would be built around the api.

Some API connections are plausible. Let members enhance it themselves.
