If you want to learn C or C++, read this post before doing anything else - sbrg - Aug 17, 2010

I am sick and tired of people that are simply unable to do any proper research to find a proper source to learn either language from.

Therefore, I have, in a hypothetical adjacent universe, taken these books from my personal ebook collection and uploaded them to stashbox. There are beginner C and C++ books, as well as advanced. Start with beginner, then read advanced. It's not fucking rocket science.

In this aforementioned hypothetical universe where my alternate self committed this act of piracy and uploaded these books, the link was:

Code
http://stashbox.org/978804/nomnom.rar

And the password for this RAR file was:
Code
&a^BMT/N

Clearly, I am a man of much higher standards than my alternate self; stooping to piracy is simply not seeming for a man of my stature.

And for the record; by posting this, I am officially making it legal to stab, shoot and kill anyone and everyone who posts a question about C++ resources without doing research that leads him to this link.

Now, get to reading, you fucking gits.

Hey Sbrg your limited...Is this the effect of your 'hypothetical adjacent universe'?

It is indeed. I am trying to get this stickied so that we can stop getting bombarded by "HEY GIEF C++ TUTORIAL LOL!!!" posts, and I'm receiving nothing but shit in return, despite the fact that I am doing something genuinely beneficial for this forum.

I think the problem steams from HF's adolescent majority and its perception of itself...

Let me clear up a few adolescent truths->misconceptions:

1. Being the top student in your grade 7/8/9 math/science class means nothing. Who cares.
2. Taking a computer course in junior/senior high amounts to nothing...The course is geared to the lowest common denominator...Probably you.
3. You know nothing.

I could continue this list...ad infinitum

Are you too fucking dense to understand? So many illiterate retards create threads in this section asking for C/C++ tutorials, books, etc. We get multiples PER DAY.

It gets tiring saying the EXACT SAME FUCKING THING to imbeciles who are too lazy to SEARCH THE FUCKING FORUMS or USE GOOGLE.

Therefore sbrg's alternate universal self stooped to using piracy and uploading some ebooks to attempt to help solve the problem.

While I agree that this thread should be stickied, the CURRENT sticky doesn't even get looked at by people. The current sticky is also so horribly out of date it's mind-boggling.

I am now making it a personal policy to give -3 reps to people who make those kinds of threads within this section. This will not apply to people who've already put forth some effort (IE people who may have been using a tutorial or book and want further resources for learning). This will apply to "hi i herd C++ is a gud languaeg pls giv me tuts thx". Posts made before this edit will not have this applied, since I'd hit the daily rep limit in a minute or 2.

Good share, but you're not suppose to ask for threads to be stickied. People will keep making threads everywhere around the forums no matter what asking for help even if the answers can easily be searched, welcome to HackForums.

Well, I turned in a few people. And say thank you to your "alternate self" on my part for the books, I already had K&R, nice to see more advanced books.

Please leave the programming section to the programming crowd. After all, I leave the lounge to lounge whores such as yourself.

By the way; are you really that fucking docile that just because there's a written rule somewhere, you will accept it unconditionally? There are rules in countries that say men can beat their wives without repercussion. Would you blindly accept that?

Get the fuck out. If I wanted the opinions of some close-minded, semi-literate, tamed über-puppy, I'd have gone to the lounge or some similar forum.

Sbrg, you'll have to leave a contact address so we can follow your escapades...Just in case.

Unfortunately, I am not the same when I am without a catalyst. I've tried ranting on a blog and shit like that, but when I don't get spat in the face by stupidity, I don't get properly motivated.

You sound like a very angry person, I compliment the thread and just simply state why it can't be stickied, and you tell me to get the fuck out.

* - g4143 - Aug 17, 2010

I think Darwin theory explains stupidity best...

Stupidity plays a simple role in society....something has to be food.

How did you manage to survive this long....you should be moving through somethings small intestine right now.

I think frustrated would be a better word.

Is that first part directed at me? I agree he is frustrated, but with frustration anger can come too.
