I need someone to sticky this before I headbutt myself into submission - sbrg - Aug 17, 2010 https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=618141 Please. It is a genuine help to the C/C++ programming forums and it will also lower the (now extremely high) chances of me losing my sanity and committing suicide by self-headbutting. For the record: the other C/C++ resource link is complete and utter fucking crap. * - Deities - Aug 17, 2010 You can't ask to make your thread a sticky. While it is true that some tutorials are better then others, your thread lacks the view it needs. Just looks like a single paragraph that you typed that explains how everyone else's threads failed and they should download and read your file. While yes I agree that people should search and research a topic before posting a thread, but some people want quick dirty answers and others are so new that they don't know where to start. Outside of the area of our forum not everyone knows what they are doing here. * - Androctonus - Aug 17, 2010 Don't wanna burst your bubble, but that wont get stickied. Thanks for taking the time to create a tutorial though. :) The reason it wont get stickied, is because you're not supposed to ask for your threads to be stickied. Now ya know! * - KaNe - Aug 17, 2010 As Deities said, you are not allowed to request a sticky. If a staff member or admin, comes across your thread, and they think it should be stickied, they will sticky it. * - Etheryte - Aug 17, 2010 No. If you think something in the sticky should be updated, why not contact Crow about it? If your thread actually really was that good, it wouldn't need to be stickied to be active and seen by members, just as a sidenote. |
