Regulatory Concerns for Cardano and Tron? - SUI-3183372 - Nov 23, 2021 https://www.etoro.com/en-us/news-and-analysis/etoro-updates/important-update-regarding-ada-and-trx/?NotificationSubcategory=Marketing&CorrelationId=db9a12f9-d1bf-4aef-8575-d2befa09c414&NotificationType=ADATRXRestriction_Notification_112321&NotificationCategory=Marketing An eToro update today announces that US users will no longer be able to open new positions in Cardano and Tron and that staking rewards would soon stop. Their decision was made due to "business-related considerations in the evolving regulatory environment". A quick search doesn't show any regulatory action being taken against Cardano currently. Does anyone have any insight as to what regulatory action could potentially be taken against Cardano and/or Tron? Does eToro know something is coming? Edit: Should note that in Cardano's case, their entire ICO was based in Japan. US residents could not participate. RE: Regulatory Concerns for Cardano and Tron? - Omniscient - Nov 23, 2021 I almost fear that staking rewards may end up being taxed like dividends and that companies like Cardano will be required to report earnings. |
