Game Lag in windows 10 driving me crazy - rockyy - Jan 4, 2022 Hi All, I am trying to play COD MW4 on my windows 10 PC. It worked like a charm on windows 7. I have tried almost every trick on Google but to no avail. When I run the xbox performance check. The FPS shows 40-52 during the game start animation..but when the game starts it drops to 9-10fps. I have installed virtually ALL the VC++ and runtimes...updated drivers. Processor is Intel® Core i5-3470T CPU @ 2.90GHz 2.89 GHz . I even increased the DVR in BIOS to 1GB for intel graphics...8.00 GB (6.96 GB usable). Tried closing background..this is a new OS..still did virus checks...drivers are latest...don't know what else to do. My gut tells me I am missing some VC++ runtime or something like that...maybe....any ideas? RE: Game Lag in windows 10 driving me crazy - Shaggy - Jan 4, 2022 Is it only on COD MW4? have you tried other games on it, If you experience a same problem you might have an OS issue or hardware issue [Like your Drive is almost full in capacity]. I can't tell for sure but I have never heard of "Redist Runtimes" to cause FPS problems. Usually the result of a problem there will just not launch the game. It's brand new OS...there is 400 GB space..all games stutter/lag..that is why suspected I am missing some library. Redist is just short for VC++ Redistributable libraries... These usually help me with games like CoD, CSGO, etc. RE: Game Lag in windows 10 driving me crazy - rockyy - Jan 4, 2022 (Jan 4, 2022 09:59 AM)Dehyped Wrote: I created a D drive 400 GB...there's only 1 game in that. 5 GB. Set it up for high graphics in windows game options..tried disabling gaming mode, enabling gaming mode..Intel driver assistant reports everything is up to date...Don't know why the FPS drops to such bad levels when the game starts. It stutters even on 640x800 res. lowest graphical detail..maybe something to do with rendering or Virtual Memory..perhaps? Might have better luck searching YouTube, using the CoD forums or just creating a support ticket through the website/game launcher. The issue here might be on your old CPU, Going onto a new OS might have made it more hot because of unnecessary optional programs that is built in the OS which results in performance throttle. I'm assuming you are using it without Graphic Card too, Maybe you can try to apply a new thermal paste and have good cooling system on your setup. Twas the god damn CPU fan. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄...Got it fixed. 😁 . Thanks for your input. RE: Game Lag in windows 10 driving me crazy - hackerm0m - Feb 3, 2022 So I have a Nvidia graphics card, but a few weeks ago when I updated my driver it started making me screen tear and lag so bad. I couldn’t figure out for days what was happening. The new update (which was probably geared more towards windows 11) ended up messing with the 3D settings and not running them correctly. I had to dial back the graphics card version to the one before, then boom. I was good! Oops haha I didn’t see it was resolved! RE: Game Lag in windows 10 driving me crazy - SIM-2502833 - Feb 3, 2022 Although OP got the issue fixed, I wanted to mention another possible fix when dealing with this issue. Disable the xbox game bar. I've seen it cause extreme lag on steam games, and it can cause all sorts of weird clunky issues with steam. |
