Motley Crue
Userbar design & Branding

What's good all! I'd like to share a recent HF design I done.

This is for the group 'Motley Crue' - One I recently joined.
The group was originally named 'greylisted' and the new owner wanted a refresh.

The brief was simple.
To inherit and take inspiration from a versions of the 'Motley Crue's band logo but with our own unique spin and style (and also red :) which I'm in favour of )

So, I began with a font family similar to that shown above and started to add aberrations and bumps around the edges.
Then I began creating a new skull to use with grunge style drips and finally, rather than having other skulls I decided to use only 1 and
place small cross shapes (x) in the middle top gap.

Lastly, I further branded out the logo design using multiple strokes and colour variations then finally placed these renders into 4 Userbar sized canvas
with a simple and effective background and used my own profile as reference for correct size and placement. Untilimately we decided to use the Userbar design #1 and reserved the others for future use.

I like the font and I like what you did with the color schema.

I'm not the biggest fan of the "bar" or background you used. It seems unorganized, and although it looks hard rock, heavy metal, it doesn't seem to fit. That's my 2 cents, I think it's important to keep that in mind when doing graphics to make it fit with the theme of the board. (Not even like HackForums or anything, but the overall theme we're using.)






Suggestion - I think instead of that background, if you used a Flying V guitar, it would've looked sick.

Like have it crossed - and don't use the LTD picture, find an actual ESP lol

I like the color that you've picked, flat and awesome.
On the userbar, the one that you are currently using is my preferred style. I'm digging it over the other three.

I like the style of your font very much. Lightnings are good too in my opinion. Just the 2 random dots on the left side aren´t my type. Still great work!

It's really good man, only thing I'd really suggest is make the shadowing reach the end of the text.

With how it is, stands out as a visible design error.

Yh i noticed that.. It's actually a red highlight that overlaps the shadow but I guess it still seems the same from a small scale. Good eye man, ty <3
