[Suggestion] Enforce out-of-marketplace violations in Groups and Crew Discussion SF - Lrrr - Mar 15, 2022

We already have rules at HF which dictate where sales threads should go, however these rules seem to not apply to group sales in the group discussion SF.

What we see more and more is thread starter will make essentially an advertisement to sell and then close the thread to stop replies. Bumping the thread every so often and then closing it again. Effectively turning the SF into an advertising forum.

I think these threads begin to clutter the SF that should be a place for meaningful discussions ABOUT or WITH the groups and Crews of HF.

I suggest that staff start enforcing the existing out-of-marketplace violations to the Group and Crew discussion SF

It was agreed that it was fine for that sub section doubt it would change just for your opinion

I feel like you feel personally attacked...you're not the only one who does it, relax babe...not everything is about you.

So you're saying that group/crew sale threads should be placed in the marketplace?

if so;

Yes, I am suggesting they belong in the marketplace section.

As you point out, everyone does it and we have for YEARS

but it's starting to be the only thing that happens in that SF

I will happily enforce if asked to do so. This is completely up to Omniscient though.

So then removing the "only thing that happens in the SF" would basically kill that forum.

I was thinking more along the lines of using it as a group and Crew General Discussion. Posts and threads related to group activities.

There's potential to make a bit of money selling the sales thread stickies In the GCGD SF

In any case, the section, in my opinion, would be forced to come up with better threads or risk being removed entirely for being dead. Group owners want to pretend that groups aren't dead...so I would expect to see a lot of posts in the general discussion about what the group is doing and why you should join

I guess I wouldn't expect a forum full of closed bumped sales threads
