First 3D Printer - Mediaicon - Mar 19, 2022

Just finished setting up and configuring 3D printer. Suggestions on first thing to print?

Thinking of some building for my campaign. But open to suggestions. Anyone know a search for STL files other than the usual suspects

I have a buddy who is super into printing random stuff. I had him make me a few Onix. I like them.

People start by printing the boat (benchy) then getting their printer to a point where it prints things decently.
After that, I recommend printing some little upgrades for your printer like new parts and a little storage bin and other things.
After that, I would try printing nic nacs and small gifts.

How much did you pay for it? Also why did you buy it? I never used one but was thinking to buy one. However, I don't know what it's good for. I wanted to buy one to prototype concepts for products but the more I looked into it the more I found that it's not really good. It's good to the point to test out Ideas at the start but not actually good for production / final versions Which needs to be made in a factory to get the final version before production. I then hold off on buying them because was going to buy an expensive one that can weld metals. I just held off because none so far can do a final proof of concept version to get real tests done.

I've actually wanted one for so long.

One of the things I wanted to print was almost like a custom stand/holder for my Ledger.

Which one did you go for? I actually have a small farm that makes me good side income as well :)

It's an Ender 3 v2 with a cr touch leveler. All in I paid $500 Canadian. So far it is pretty straight forward and I have printed a few items (first thing was an image made to test resolution, accuracy and overhang). I would recommend buying if you can. It is fun to watch items 'cone to life'

Ender 3 v2 got a cr touch and metal extruder kit as well. And a roll of pla plus.

Side income? Now I am interested.

Yeah, I plan to buy one for my company to prototype products. I need something that can work with metal and can do some welding.
I have been looking for one but cannot find it. I want a 3d printer that can do some 7 or 8 layer PCB work.

Do you mean the fabrication like the desktop metal studio 3d? $8000 - $400 000 is a bit out of my price range.

Would love some footage of this thing going if you get one... please send video ;)

A gun, that's what I'm getting mine for.

RE: First 3D Printer - TaskMgrCrashes - Mar 23, 2022

Try and print some mechanical stuff, or design it yourself.

I learned a lot from trying to make a pen launcher.

OP you should print a 3D printer so you can sell your initial investment
