Watercooling and why covid sucked dick. - Mr. Robot - Mar 31, 2022

Ran my GPU almost dry over Covid as a lot of places I get my liquid from weren't available.
GPU left, CPU right. 14 months worth of use, no changes or cleans.

Finally cleaned it up and refilled.

Ouch, but that does look like a gnarly setup.

5950x TR, 3080, 128gb 4000mhz ram. Average temperature when hashcracking for long periods:
35c , while running virtual machines and all the jazz.

Sheesh you just made me nut dude. looking at the 3090 at all when the price goes down? hardly even need the power I guess. That's a great temperature for hard work periods, I don't have any experience liquid cooling, seems to work though lol

I have 3x 3090s as well.

That's a lot of power! do you mine, or is that just for your rig? lol

I checked out your Setup thread and I like your RGB too. I'll post mine in a few

Hashcracking mainly. More money in it than mining.

Oh, interesting! how many hashes can your machine check through? I dunno if I'm like saying that right, how fast is it checking hashes?
Have you compared to directly to mining? I'm sure it's probably much more money than mining, but have you ran any tests to see just how much profit it is for your time and power consumption? sorry if I'm asking too many questions, curious

Yes, so generally speaking 1 hash can be 500$+ which can take a day or more depending.
If I do bulk hashes like md5 for 0.001 each I can do a couple K per month on the side and included in that bulk are some worth $5 to $250 or more sometimes. Depends what's on the escrow market or if I am contacted to do private lists.

A good day is like 12 hours of cracking and getting paid like $1k

Wow so it's actually quite a bit more than Coin mining! Thanks for sharing!

Yeah it's all dependant on how much time effort and sometimes luck.

For sure! I see you have a lot of resources for learning this on your profile too, if anyone wanted to try themselves, thanks for being active and sharing what you know :)

Haven't been as active on HF in the last year or so but I'll be making a come back eventually.
