Back in the days it used to be possible to access the phone network yourself by directly plugging yourself in.
But even if that still works for your location, the targets provider would most likely block it as spam after a few.

Yes, just send email through an SMS gateway using an email address. But generally if its not from a reputable provider it'll get filtered. You can stack up gmails and switch through them but they'll get cut off rather quick. So don't expect to send thousands upon thousands.
