What would be an upgrade from ryzen 5 3600 6 core - Nate - May 25, 2022 Budget is around $300-400 dollars... (possibly more if i manage to sell my cpu) I also don't know what gen it is, if someone could tell me how to figure that out Unless you think i should upgrade gpu; which currently i have a 2060 rtx , which ill probably sell increasing budget to around $600 RE: What would be an upgrade from ryzen 5 3600 6 core - Xen - May 26, 2022 Depends what you’re playing, you could go for something like a 5800x (check your motherboard compatibility) and a 3060 Ti. Well i just want to upgrade so idk lol.. i play a lot of games you know this smhh RE: What would be an upgrade from ryzen 5 3600 6 core - Yac1ne - May 26, 2022 Well, as said in the first reply, and since you're on an amd platform, check your motherboard's compatibility, you could upgrade to a 5800x, but if you want my opinion, don't upgrade just yet, because the next generation of hardware will be out shortly, of course, i understand if you don't want to upgrade to the latter since you'll also have to upgrade the motherboard, but at the very least prices of existing components should get cheaper. If you download HWinfo, you can see what motherboard you have. B350/x370 was mainly for 1st gen and 2nd gen ryzen, however a few boards now can let you run the latest Ryzen CPUs with a BIOS update. B450/X470 is a good middle ground for 1st gen ryzen and latest generation without having any issues B550/X570 is the current and final rendition I believe for the AM4 socket. I would get the 5600X with a 3600MHz RAM 2x8GB, you could easily still sell your GPU for a lot more even with 30 series prices coming down. Reality is, your 3600 is still pretty solid. You could spend that money towards a GPU upgrade instead. RE: What would be an upgrade from ryzen 5 3600 6 core - Beherit - Jul 6, 2022 With a $600 budget you can get a 3060ti from EVGA official site. If you are gaming, a GPU upgrade will do more for you at this point. You can probably get an RTX 3070 for under $400 if you wait a couple more weeks and buy refurb/used. No point in buying a new RTX 3000 series as this point when RTX 4000 series is due out end of this year. Seems to be a common trend with Nvidia for the one generation to be garbage. EVGA has their b-stock get stuff every wednesday or so. AMD isn't a bad choice either. Especially their own reference cards which can be bought for a steal imo. In Canada, I could have gotten a 6800XT for $899CAD. That card does perform slightly better than the 3080. I would like to spend around $400-600 on gpu tbh RE: What would be an upgrade from ryzen 5 3600 6 core - Gary - Jul 9, 2022 (Jul 9, 2022 08:02 PM)Nаte Wrote: I would like to spend around $400-600 on gpu tbh Assuming its USD you can easily find a 30 series card for around that price. I believe Micro Centre has FE cards next with Best Buy? RE: What would be an upgrade from ryzen 5 3600 6 core - Nate - Jul 9, 2022 (Jul 9, 2022 09:00 PM)Gary. Here's a decent chart to reference from Toms Hardware.
RE: What would be an upgrade from ryzen 5 3600 6 core - cRuci4L - Jul 10, 2022 I just upgraded from ryzen 7 2700 to ryzen 7 5800x and it was night and day for me. I had no idea how much I was being bottlenecked by my cpu. My fps almost doubled on some games. I already had a 3060 Ti and a 3070 Ti. 3060Ti would be be about the best you'll get with that budget. 3070Ti and up would just be a waste of money if you're doing 1080p gaming. Plus your cpu will still bottleneck those cards more than likely. Also 3600 ram if your board will support it properly. 3200 will be as low as I'd go. |
