Twitter shareholders sue Elon Musk and Twitter over chaotic deal - The Pact - May 26, 2022

The shareholders’ complaint says his gripes about “bots” were part of a scheme to negotiate a better price or kill the deal.

“Musk proceeded to make statements, send tweets, and engage in conduct designed to create doubt about the deal and drive Twitter’s stock down substantially in order to create leverage that Musk hoped to use to either back out of the purchase or to re-negotiate the buyout price by as much as 25%."

Since Musk’s acquisition bid, Twitter’s share price has dropped more than 12%, and Tesla’s is down about 28%.

Well if Twitter's acquisition papers stated that less than 5% of active users are bots, when that is obviously false, then I don't see how this is even a case.

That being said, I'm also pretty stupid and not a lawyer, should be interesting regardless haha

I think a lot of times people that others accuse of being bots are not bots but they may be shills that are people in third world countries being paid 28 cents an hour in troll farms to post political things but they're still actual people. Or they may be shill accounts of people in first world countries as well posting to promote the political party they belong too also or using extra accounts to promote their political agenda.  And also I remember when someone teased a politician about following me back because they said I was a bot because I was  using that account to promote erotic books. So I MUST be a bot instead of.....you know the author of the books.

But you may know more about how to tell for sure that an account is a bot than I do. I have seen people accuse accounts of being bots that are defo not bots though.

I find it extremely believable, but no I don't have cold hard facts, neither does Twitter.

There's no "perfect anti bot" if there was, bots wouldn't be a thing I'd imagine

Edit - And to go further, makes you wonder how they came up with this "less than 5% bots" stat if they can't prove it themselves.

I think you aren't supposed to manipulate the market and he's trying to drive the price down.

You haven't heard about being able to sue just for about anything? Might be an America only thing.
