Eran's Testimonial

This early testimonial may come as a surprise to some, but I have an urge to share my experience on HF with everyone. I am aware of the fact that I am on here only for ~10 months, but it has been a ride. I have had many life changes the past year, several of which I have shared with the community.

I have never even made an introduction thread. I just hopped on here and started replying on topics I found interesting. I had no specific ambitions or niches I wanted to learn here. I've always loved forums and I think you can meet plenty of amazing people and even life-long friends. Prior to HF, I have been part of a community related to a private server I've been playing for years. During quarantine season I have been voice-chatting with a girl from Netherlands and a couple of their friends joined. We literally spent several months of quarantine just talking, playing and chilling all day. Fast forward a year later they all travelled to my country and we partied for a week straight.
Now, I know this is not related to HF, however, my point is, you can meet such awesome people on communities like these, and I wanted to try something similar on HF. I never knew how much HackForums could influence my life.

I have been lurking the forum just replying to random stuff, talking to a few people, learning about financial freedom etc. Towards the end of October, I did something I have planned for months.
I quit my job of 3 years.

I actually could not believe the amount of support I have received on that thread which now has over a hundred replies! I have met so many people who have experienced the same thing, people who are going through the same thing... I want to thank every single one of you who replied on my thread and gave me encouragement! You are literally the reason that I STILL refuse a 9-5 job and I am going strong for 8 months now! I am currently working even more hours for Glovo (basically UberEats in Europe), but it's a flexible job, I can work 0 hours a day or 12 hours a day. If I don't feel like working, they won't care. If I want to grind, I can work 12 hours everyday. The plan is to get out of debt and earn some investment money so I can launch an online business. Whenever I have doubts, I'll return to that thread and remember the reason why I started. A handful of strangers online supported my decision more than my own friends and family did!

The Insiders

I am not exactly sure how I got in this group. I think they have had open recruitments at the time, so I thought I'd give it a shot. I've always lacked self-confidence so I never thought I would be accepted. However I was let in just a couple of hours later. This motivated me to be more active, contribute more, meet more people and try to make something out of this HF journey. I want to give a shoutout to @wtf@ for always pushing me and inspiring me to be better. I also want to mention @Yuno@ for being an amazing friend that I met in the group. I started being interested in growing my profile on HF, collecting awards, making projects, hosting contests...
The Insiders were hosting a contest in February, and of course, due to my lack of self-confidence as I mentioned before, I almost did not sign up. I'm just a newbie on HF, there are far too many OP members who will literally wreck me, why even try? Once again, I decided to give this a shot. The result? I ended up winning the major prize and another one as well (the contest had several parts and you could compete in more than one). This is when a few users reached out and congratulated me, to which I replied that I never believed I can win. I had a very honest talk with them and they made me realize than it doesn't matter if someone is here longer than me or smarter than me, if I grind and work hard and believe in myself I can achieve great things. I started applying this mindset in real life and I have noticed changes very fast. Unbelievable how you can completely change your mindset if you get the proper encouragement and put in the work and believe in yourself.

The Warriors

This is where shit got real. When I first joined HF, I've had my eyes on this group. I admired what they were doing, how they avoided drama, how they would always help out whoever needed it, how they focused on upgrading new members instead of hosting crypto contests to increase their reputation. I was actually promoted both to L33t and Ub3r by The Warriors and I will always be thankful for that.
One day while getting ready for work, I got a new convo by one of the leaders. I'm not sure was it @Sky@ or @Rise@ (my convos got deleted), however I was asked if I want to join their group. I freaked out lol. I guess they noticed my activity and my mentality, and decided to reach out and ask if I want to join. I didn't know how to respond but of course I accepted the offer! I was added to The Warriors and instantly went to explore the sub-forum and to see what was going on behind the scenes. I was amazed with their mission before, but I never knew there was more than what meets the eye. The effort that was put in everything hosted on HF is amazing. I became a member of the group I thought it would take years to get in. This just confirmed what I've already learnt on HF, believe in yourself, work hard and great things will come. I am proudly wearing these colors and I am very excited because I have quite a few projects coming up for HF that The Warriors inspired me to do.

-----

Another notable mention where I was assured a lot of people got my back and are ready to talk to me when I need to is on
this thread where I asked for advice about having a bi girlfriend.

I'd like to finish off this testimonial by saying that within less than a year, this community has:

~ Taught me a lot about making money online and I am thankful that I now have a clear vision of how I want to earn my money
~ Self-shot my confidence up
~ Shown me that I always have to have someone to talk to, even when I feel like I'm all alone
~ Shown me that I am of value and that I can contribute a lot
~ Shown me a different perspective on a lot of topics and made me more open to different opinions
~ Brought many people into my life who are now friends and that I talk to every day!

Thank you for reading my testimonial, if this encourages even one person to do and be better, I will be happy. :)
