FPS Issues on some games. - 【ＯＭＥＧＡ】 - Jul 15, 2022
I have a friend who has a significant worse PC than mine and still have better FPS's in most games.
He got a shitty old 1600x ryzen and 3060ti
I got the 5800x ryzen and 3080.
in escape from tarkov he has 10-30 more fps everywhere we are with the exact same settings.
Any ideas to why
I have tried reinstalled drivers,
Then complete reformat of pc.
nothing makes it better.

Perhaps the graphics card or the CPU or both are thermal throttling, since you mentioned that you reinstalled both drivers and windows, i guess that more or less eliminates the possiblity of present malware or software problems, check the clocks while gaming, see how far these two components clock, and take a look at their temperatures.

CPU Temps max 80c and GPU Temps max 63. Under load in tarkov.

No in most games he has higher FPS than me.
Clocks seems to run as they should.

Okay what about GPU usage ? please mention the exact numbers of CPU clock, along with GPU and graphics memory clock, keep a close eye on GPU usage, because if it's anything less than 99 % with the graphics card being the bottleneck, then that could be a problem.

CPU Clocks goes up and down after how much they load,
and msi afterburner is just stuck at 1800mhz & 9501 Mhz for GPU.
EDIT: i see in afterbuner monitor that at load it boosts to 1995 GPU Clockspeed.

Looks like clocks are fine, check the GPU usage

What background applications do you have running? Are you streaming? Using an overlay or something like that? Also, using full-screen, borderless full-screen?

Then that's got to be the problem, because it should be 300 plus, please check the GPU usage, i'm talking about the actual chip usage, you can find it labeled GPU Usage in afterburner, or in task manager

See, this is where i'm going, GPU usage should always be above 90 % when the graphics card is the limiting factor, what is the exact model of your 3080 ?
