Is a ASIC Miner a good investment? - SIM-587985 - Aug 6, 2022 I was just wondering what you guys thought. I'm traveling a bunch, at this point in my life, living in each state for 3-6 months. I'm in furnished houses that come with all utilities included. Would it be worth it to lug around a chunk of hardware everywhere I went? The Ant-Miner S-19 Pro has some websites claiming that it has a $12/day profitability. I assume that is with power costs too. I also worry about the fluctuations of the economy and the impact it makes on crypto. I haven't mined before and I am interested to hear from people who are currently mining, or have mined in the past. RE: Is a ASIC Miner a good investment? - Blue Eye Samurai - Aug 6, 2022 You also would need to take a look at cooling the machine and if you can withstand the noise that's coming out from the machine. Those machines need good intake airflow to keep them running cool. I owned asics myself and I never found it worth to put them at home due to the noise it creates. You can choose a mining farm but choose wisely. I was hoping the ones over a grand were more quiet. Wishful thinking I guess. I used to run a server in my bathroom, is that about what I should expect if I get one? I'm kinda newer to mining, it never seemed worth it unless you got a dedi. Well, 600MH/s is about 6 x 3090 GPUs which take around 300Watt each from the wall + 150Watt for other Motherboard parts and add 10% more because of PSU efficiency. Jasminer is 600MH/s @ 295Watt (at the wall) Normal rig is 600MH/s @ 2150Watt (at the wall) Down side is that you cannot sell the miner to gamers, and the GPUs you can. Upside is that the Jasminer does not require any specific setup or troubleshooting, it's a plug and play thing. |
