That is not entirely correct however i can understand why many would consider that to be correct.
What is gambling?
Taking a risky action in the hope of a desired result.
Crypto trading is risky, with or without strategies, and when you start crypto trading you are hoping for a desired result therefor you are taking a risky action in the hope of a desired result which is the pure definition of gambling.
Any form of gambling is haram, according to the Quran.
