Interesting video about Ryzen 7000 series CPUs - Gary - Sep 28, 2022

Optimum Tech finally posted a video regarding PBO2 and undervolting the Ryzen 7000 series.

The new CPUs normally sit at 95C for performance reasons supposedly. With an undervolt he was able to drop the temps down to 60C

All modern chips tend to benefit a lot from undervolting.
I currently run a 12900K + RTX 3090 undervolted.

While gaming (target 4k@120 maxed out) I pull about 400W with better performance than stock.

I don't have a problem with running chips hot when they are designed to do so. As dies get even smaller, heat density inherently goes up. Maxing out temps is one part of getting optimal performance out of them. If you aren't running at the max allowed temp, you are giving up performance.

There is an eco mode feature available that lets you run at lower temps and lower TDPs if you want to trade performance for less power/heat. https://www.pcworld.com/article/1075115/ryzen-9-vs-core-i9-can-amds-eco-mode-save-you-money.html

Ultimately though, the right answer is having a good case and cooler with good air flow.
