Retail Holidays - Seaking - Oct 5, 2022 I was out at lowes yesterday and they have already moved all the Halloween stuff from the floor to two small isles and Christmas trees and lights are already up. I thought it was nuts, but in a few more stores around here it's the same thing. Anyone else notice this? Hopefully it's just a local thing where i'm at. RE: Retail Holidays - SIM-5244392 - Oct 5, 2022 It all starts too early. Christmas covers 4 months of the year it’s insane RE: Retail Holidays - Pikachu - Oct 5, 2022 Walmart put up all the Xmas stuff in the garden section, Halloween is still the main focus RE: Retail Holidays - Seaking - Oct 5, 2022 (Oct 5, 2022 11:15 AM)SIM-5244392 Wrote: It all starts too early. Our local Walmart is about 1/2 Halloween and Christmas, but I would take a guess that in another week it'll probably be down to about 1/3. RE: Retail Holidays - Pikachu - Oct 5, 2022 Just walked into hobby lobby and 80% of the store is Christmas with little Halloween RE: Retail Holidays - mickeh - Oct 5, 2022 Because they know the sooner they put it out the sooner people will buy it RE: Retail Holidays - Evading - Oct 5, 2022 The stores in my country have had Christmas sweets & chocolate out since the end of August / start of September. RE: Retail Holidays - Hipster Ariel - Oct 5, 2022 Agree, It's all put up too early. But it is not only a matter of retailers milking holidays (though most of it is). 1) Things have to be put up in advance so people can buy and decorate before the holiday. 2) Companies prefer to be early rather than miss dates RE: Retail Holidays - Zeus - Oct 5, 2022 Christmas actually isn't so far away it's crazy it goes so quick. RE: Retail Holidays - Charlie Sheen - Oct 6, 2022 Eventually it's going to sell, they want to get as much in the store as possible. |
